Canon Continues to Develop Supertelephoto Zoom

Back in 2016 we had heard a few times that Canon would be introducing a new supertelephoto zoom, something like an EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS. This is the type of lens segment that is dominated by Sigma and Tamron, as Canon’s longest “affordable” zoom is the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II.

More details on the new Nikon D810 version designed for astrophotography

I received several confirmation on the special Nikon D810 version designed for astrophotography . The official announcement will be early next week, right before the start of the CP+ show in Japan . One of the differences from the regular D810 model will be a 5 stops longer max shutter speed.

Confirmed: Nikon to launch a new 400mm f/2.8 lens

The current Nikon AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR lens I just received a confirmation – Nikon will launch a refresh of the current Nikon AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR lens (funny that we just had a guest post on that lens ). Expect the price of the new lens to be at least $500 more than the current version ( $8,999.00 )

Firmware: Canon EOS C100 & EOS C300 Updates Available

Canon EOS C100 Ability to move the magnification viewing area around the LCD using the MAGN Function has been added. ISO up to 80,000 has been added. A Key Lock menu setting has been added which now makes it possible to lock all operations, including the START/STOP button.
