The value of Nikon Metrology business has dropped by $94M USD

Yesterday Nikon issued a press release announcing that they expect an “extraordinary loss” in the value of their Nikon Metrology business based in Belgium: As a result of reviewing NMNV’s future cash flow in the aforementioned process, the fair value of the investment in NMNV has declined, and 10,343 million yen of the loss on valuation of the investment in subsidiaries is expected to be recorded as an extraordinary loss based on Japanese GAAP.

Today Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC) announced Polycam – a new range of tracking technology that combines 3D tracking information and through artificial intelligence creates automated robotic camera movements in real time. In 2016, MRMC was acquired by Nikon Corporation and this new product explains the large Nikon booth at NAB this year
