Nikon Japan issued an apology for the shortage of the latest Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens  ( see why  - btw this is the second apology  from Nikon for that lens): AF – S NIKKOR 500 mm f / 5.6 E PF ED VR “, a super telephoto single focus lens compatible with the Nikon FX format, which was released on September 14, 2018, was ordered by a large number of customers who exceeded expectations We are. We are shipping sequentially, but we receive your time to reach the customers who are currently ordering. Also, even if you are ordered by customers in the future, you may get time to deliver the product

December full-frame mirrorless camera market share in Japan – Sony: 66.4%, Canon: 17.5%, Nikon: 16%

BCN ranking published a new graph on the state of the full-frame mirrorless market in Japan from August 2018 to December 2018 (when the latest Nikon and Canon mirrorless cameras were announced). The sales for December 2018 are – Sony: 66.4%, Canon: 17.5%, Nikon: 16%.

Nikon D7200 and D5500 Officially Discontinued

Nikon Japan has officially discontinued the D7200 and D5500 digital SLR cameras. Both cameras were announced back in 2015. There’s no word yet on what their replacements might be, or when they will be announced
