Nikon Nikkor AF-S 180-400mm f/4 ED TC VR lens reviewed at Ephotozine

MTF graph with TC at 560mm Chromatic aberration graph with TC at 560mm Today Ephotozine published their detailed review of the new  Nikon Nikkor AF-S 180-400mm f/4 ED TC VR lens ( $12,396.95 ) together with sample photos in addition to the actual/measured MTF and chromatic aberration charts at different focal lengths with and without the TC. Their conclusion: “The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED is a large and heavy lens, but it does the job and to a very high standard.

Canon USA Announces Canon Log Feature Upgrade for the EOS 5D Mark IV

We first reported that the EOS 5D Mark IV would get a C-Log update last month, and a few days later a more indepth upgrade list came from an unknown source. It looks like the detailed firmware specifications list from a “new source” was a nice and detailed hoax

DSLR vs. mirrorless cameras produced in the past four years (based on CIPA data)

As a part of the discussion in my last post  I went to CIPA’s website and got the numbers of units produced for DSLR and mirrorless cameras in the past four years and plugged them into a graph ( blue: DSLR , green: mirrorless , click for larger view): There are many different conclusions you can make out of this data, so I will let you do this in the comments section.
