Nikon Q2 financial results are out

Nikon’s Photokina press release suggests no further product announcements

Nikon Europe issued their press release for the 2018 Photokina show (September 26-29) and it seems that the new mirrorless Z system will be the main attraction at the Nikon booth. After reading the press release, I think there is a very low chance that Nikon will make any major announcements at their  September 25th event . Nikon’s 2018 financial results are out

Today Nikon announced their financial results for the year that ended March 2018. As previously reported , profit is up for the entire company – here are the key numbers with relevant data from the Imaging Products Business: Operating Profit: ¥56.2 billion (¥55.5 billion increase from last year, ¥3.2 billion above estimates) Imaging Products Business: fixed cost reduction and focus on high-value-added products increased profit despite market shrinkage Annual dividend increased to ¥36 per share from previously forecasted ¥31 in (previous year: ¥16, more info here ).

DxO Labs Goes Bankrupt, Will Not Affect DxO PhotoLab or Nik Software Collection Customers

DxO Labs have issued a statement saying that they have chosen to file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection. Despite this, the company is planning to release version 1.2 of DxO PhotoLab and a new version of the Nik Software Collection in June, following the process of restructuring the business
