Aurora Aperture Develops Filters for Canon EF-to-RF adapters

Aurora Aperture has announced the development of drop in filters for the Canon EOS R mirrorless camera. Filters under development for the Canon RF mount adapter include: Fixed neutral density (ND) filters family: PowerND™ Variable ND filter family: PowerXND™ II 128 (1 – 7 stops) and 2000 (5 – 11 stops) Circular polarized (CPL) filter: PowerCPL™ Also under development is a special tray to fit in the EF-to-RF adapter to control filter rotation externally

Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.4N E II lens for Nikon F-mount officially announced

After the rumored Zeiss Otus 100mm f/1.4  and the just announced Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 F , there is another new lens to report on today – Yongnuo has now officially announced the F-mount version of their new YN 50mm f/1.4N E II lens (I already reported about the Canon version here and here ). Pricing and availability of the new lens are not yet available (Yongnuo products are sold at  B&H  and  Amazon ).

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Smartphones Add Automatic Dual Aperture

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones feature Super Slow-mo video, best-in-class low light camera and AR Emojis. Samsung’s Dual Aperture (F1.5 / F2.4) automatically lets in more light when it’s dark and less light when it’s too bright, taking photos that are crisp and clear. Super Slow-mo records dynamic, slow-motion video that captures 960 frames per second. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available starting in March 16, 2018 in select markets and will be offered in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and a new hue, Lilac Purple.

Zeiss Milvus 1.4/25

Zeiss today officially announced their new Milvus 1.4/25 Distagon lens. Developed for full-frame Canon and Nikon cameras, this 25mm lens is suitable primarily for landscape and architecture photography and journalistic applications. “Even at full aperture, there are hardly any colour fringes,” says Christophe Casenave, Product Manager at Zeiss.
