New rumors: Nikon APS-C (DX) mirrorless camera possible

First, a small note on the Nikon Z1 entry-level mirrorless camera : when Nikon makes a prototype, they do not name or label them in any way – see some previous Nikon Z prototypes: The Nikon Z1 mirrorless camera picture I posted on Sunday could have been developed as a prototype, but the fact that it has a model label on the front (Z1) could indicate that it may actually be released one day. This is where the new rumors I received come to play – I was told that Nikon will announce a new DX (with an APS-C sensor) entry-level mirrorless camera

Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S lens report from Sicily

Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S lens report from Sicily by Max Aquila from nikonland.it  (the new 14-30mm Z lens is expected to start shipping at the end of April ): No other superwide zoom could be compared with its focal range and luminosity but surely neither for dimension and weight (485 gr, 89 x 85mm), neither for optical scheme (14 elements in 12 groups, 4 asph. and 4 ED) that allows to have the first 14mm zoom with a frontal plane lens that can accommodate a 82mm filter: A large flower hood, but not too deep, considering potential undesired flares and ghosts  and a not excessive barrel range, at lower focal: comparing with the standard 24-70/4S zoom, seems even more compact: As with other Z lenses, you can program focusing ring if desired: A superwide lens with a 114° angle of field can be used and abused: The strengths of this Z-Nikkor 14-30 are certainly the sharpness and the remarkable color density: The lens is practically immune to reflections, flares, ghosts, even under the direct sun:   Virtually NO distortion: 14mm 30mm Interiors in available light, high ISO (over 10,000):   A close-up thanks to the unusual minimum focusing distance of 28cm (i.e. 20cm from the frontal lens): Here are my conclusions: excellent color rendering and linear performance very low vignetting and distortion (thanks to the automatic interview with the development sw) record size and weight flat front lens and possibility of mounting filters precise and silent AF engine as if it did not exist competitive price in relation to the yield Additional sample photos: The full, original post can be found here (used with permission). Interesting: there will be three different sizes of CFexpress memory cards

A reader sent me some additional information I missed when I reported about the latest CFexpress 2.0  - there will be three different sizes of CFexpress memory cards: Type B is the same form factor as we already know as XQD, aimed at higher-end digital cameras Type C is a new, larger form factor aimed at replacing SSDs used in PCs, laptops, tablet PCs etc, with higher performance than Type B Type A is a new, smaller form factor, aimed at digital cameras that prioritize small size over capacity and performance compared to Type B DC.Watch  posted some prototype pictures of the different CFexpress types that were on display at the CP+ show: CFexpress Type A memory card CFexpress Type B memory card CFexpress Type C memory card Thanks Dave! The post Interesting: there will be three different sizes of CFexpress memory cards appeared first on Nikon Rumors . Related posts: ProGrade Digital: CFexpress memory card backward compatibility to XQD possible with a firmware update CP+ show report: Lexar CFexpress memory card SanDisk will also make CFexpress memory card
