Sigma today announced the previously leaked full-frame DSLR lenses (only the 60-600mm lens is currently available for pre-order at Adorama and B&H ): Sigma 28mm F1.4 DG HSM Art The new Sigma wide-angle model stands out with its thoroughly corrected magnification chromatic aberration and sagittal coma flare, as well as completely minimized distortion thanks to its optical design. It features water- and oil-repellent coating on the front lens element and its overall dust- and splash-proof structure ensures excellent performance even in the most challenging shooting conditions

Olympus Commit to Micro Four Thirds as "Most mobile camera system"

Olympus reaffirmed their commitment to Micro Four Thirds in their press conference at Photokina today. Unlike fellow MFT member, Panasonic, Olympus have not unveiled any plans to release a camera system with a larger sensor, instead choosing to continue to offer “a professional camera system boasting great image quality while still being compact and featuring light weight.

Sigma to Develop L-Mount Camera with Foveon Sensor, Release Canon EF to L-mount Adapter

The Chief Executive Officer of Sigma, Kazuto Yamaki, has confirmed that the company will be releasing their own L-mount camera in the near future. In a behind-closed-doors meeting here at Photokina, Sigma told Photography Blog that they have not yet decided on whether the camera will be an APS-C or full-frame model

Fujifilm GFX 50R Rangefinder Medium Format Mirrorless Camera

The Fujifilm GFX 50R is a rangefinder-styled medium-format mirrorless camera that’s smaller and lighter than the GFX 50S (145g less and 25mm thinner). The 51.4 megapixel GFX 50R rangefinder camera allows you to keep your eye on a subject while looking through the the 0.77x 3.69M-dot organic EL electronic viewfinder (EVF) with the other eye. It is the first model in the GFX system to support the Bluetooth low energy technology, while the magnesium alloy body is weather-sealed in 64 places to provide dust and weather resistance and ability to operate at temperatures as low as -10.
