Yesterday ProGrade Digital announced  their new CFexpress 1TB 1400 MB/s memory card. One of the listed benefits of using CFexpress memory cards is the backward compatibility possibility with the XQD format after a firmware update from the camera manufacturer: Form Factor ideally suited for higher capacities needed in imaging applications – up-to 1TB with current NAND flash memory technology Physical size that is easy to handle – slightly larger than SD and slightly smaller than CFast or CompactFlash (29.6 x 38.5 x 3.8 mm) Performance capability capable of > 1GB/sec transfer rates, through the use of two PCIe data lanes. Nikon D7500 and D850 – the only two cameras Nikon announced in the last 18 months win the Red Dot product design award

Nikon announced the D5600 DSLR camera that contained some minor updates in November 2016. In August of 2016 Nikon also introduced the D3400 with only one major upgrade : SnapBrindge. Since then (in the last 18 months) Nikon has introduced only two DSLR cameras – the D7500 and D850 (and one Coolpix model ).
