Aurora Aperture Introduces World’s First Variable GND Filter Family

Irvine, California, January 15th, 2018 – Aurora Aperture Inc., a Southern California company specialized in photography filters, today has introduced the world’s first variable graduated neutral density (GND) filter family, the Aurora PowerGXND. The PowerGXND family is an hard transition GND filter with a continuous range up to 5 stops (ND 0 – 1.5).

A quick update on the rumored Nikon full-frame mirrorless camera Z-mount

A quick update on my last post about the rumored new full-frame mirrorless Z-mount from Nikon: the measurements I reported caused some confusion in the comments section – my understanding is that the external diameter of 49mm is the actual mount opening, the entire external diameter of the mount is going to be 65.4mm (just received this update): Mount diameter (opening): 49mm Total diameter of mount: 65.4mm Flange focal distance: 16mm The top graph by Eric Calabros shows a comparison between Nikon Z-mount and Sony E-mount: the Z-mount has more than 6 degrees advantage over E-mount (important for wide angle and fast lenses).
